Advice:
Smoking maybe responsible for up to 24% of all deaths in Scotland each year. Smoking stands as THE major cause of lung cancer deaths as welling as significantly increasing the risk of heart disease, stroke and many other forms of cancers. Passive smoking, likewise increases the risk of all of these diseases. Children whose parents smoke are also significantly more likely to develop chest problems, ear infections in children and heart and lung disease as adults.
At Valley Medical Practice we would be delighted to help you in your bid to stop smoking. Counselling, nicotine replacement therapy as well as oral medication, may all be available as options to assist you in quitting. If you would like help to stop smoking, please speak to any of the GP’s or the Practice Nurse
